“We made it!” People that say that every new year are dumb. I think I must have said that like 30 times before it was even 1:00 am on Jan 1st. I had a wonderful NYE. I played a coffeehouse in Chicago with 8 other comics to an audience of 8 comics. It was one to write home about. Actually, it was a great experience. There are quite a few great Chicago comics out there. It was fun to watch. Well, I sort of kept putting off making new years resolutions so here I am sitting in my apartment, trying to think of vices that I want to give up for 2006 that I haven’t already done today or yesterday. So much for not killing hookers.
Actaully, I think this is a great system if you want to be realistic when giving up something for the New Year. Go 2 or 3 days into the year, then figure out what you want to give up eliminating anything you have already done as an option. Because let’s face it, if you want to quite smoking, you probably won’t. If you want to go to the gym more, you won’t. Odds are by day 3 of the new year, you will have already smoked and you will have not gone to the gym yet. Now you can think of some fun little realistic thing to accomplish for the new year. Myself, personally, if I try to give something up and then I cave in once, its over. I will do it again and again. I think its just a personallity thing. I feel like I have already failed and so whats the difference between one dead hooker and a bunch, ya know? This guy knows what I’m talking about.
I would again like to apologize for my Dec 30th entry. That was just not called for. We all have things we hate. I shouldn’t go off on it on my friendly public little website that Conor and Gip look at when they are bored at work. So moving on, if anyone reading this doesn’t have a myspace account, I really do endorse this. It really is pretty fun. Sure, at first thought, it seems nerdy and pathetic. I thought so do, but I signed up thinking, what can it hurt? Well, now I have contact with a lot of people I used to know that sort of lost contact with. I can get information out to a lot of people really easily if I have some cool exciting news. That is fun. and I can post dumb pictures, look at other people’s dumb pictures, and write stupid blogs that people can comment on… much like this one. I do like my website. I think it is a great tool and fun to throw dumb little clips on, like this new one for example of my little nephew baby Jack’s first words. (CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO) The only downside for me is that it is one-way. I can get info out, but not get much feedback other than my guestbook which is repeatedly graffiti-ed by my friends and loved-ones. ;) (I also think people that use puctuations smileys are dumb) But with myspace.com, you can get messages, comment on people’s pictures, and reply to people’s blogs. It is just fun and pretty useful. Also people like to find their friends on it so just sign up and put a picture up, then don’t ever use it again. Mine is www.myspace.com/johnnycomic and if you want to check out our sketch group’s, it is: www.myspace.com/thegentlemenshour Thanks.
